Moments ago, a Texas judge declared Cornelius Dupree innocent and tossed out his conviction, bringing 30 years of injustice to a close.
Dupree, an Innocence Project client, told reporters that “it's a joy to be free again." Six other Texans who had been exonerated through DNA testing joined Dupree at the hearing, and he is now speaking with reporters from around the country.
