Innocence Ambassador Joan Baez Nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The Innocence Project and Innocence Network congratulate Innocence Ambassador Joan Baez on her nomination for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of fame in 2017.
In keeping with her 50 years of activism through music, Baez partnered with the Innocence Project to raise awareness of wrongful convictions on the North American leg of her 2016 tour. Innocence Project volunteers have been attending her shows and informing fans about the contributing causes of wrongful convictions and the efforts to enact preventative reforms.
“I’m thrilled to lend my voice to such an important cause and help in the fight against wrongful convictions,” Baez told Broadway World. “We hope to provide a platform that will amplify the heartbreaking stories of men and women wrongfully convicted. The fight against unlawful convictions shines a light on both a broken criminal justice system and the racial inequality of people serving time. I hope my audiences will be motivated to support their work.”
The Innocence Project is grateful to have such a powerful partner in the fight for wrongful conviction reform.

ThanX to all of those who stop each day that they are free to do something, or say something that brings attention to those who are wrongfully incarcerated.
And to those in power who get retrials through new DNA technics, you are truly doing the work of the people.
