Tonight on Frontline: Arson and Injustice
Posted: October 19, 2010 4:10 pm
PBS’ Frontline tonight opens its new season tonight with an hour-long documentary on the case of Cameron Todd Willingham, who was executed in Texas in 2004 for allegedly setting the fire that killed his three young daughters. Even before Willingham was executed, reports presented to Texas officials raised serious doubts about the science used to determine that the fire was arson. At the request of the Innocence Project, the Texas Forensic Science Commission has been conducting a formal investigation into the case.

On Thursday, Texas Judge Charlie Baird held a hearing in the case to determine whether to convene a court of inquiry, and the Texas Forensic Science Commission discussed the case at its meeting on Friday.
