Student Investigation Raises Questions About Chicago Murder Conviction

An investigation by journalism students at Northwestern University’s Medill Innocence Project has revealed serious questions about the conviction of Donald Watkins, who has spent six years in prison for a murder he says he didn’t commit.

The students, who published their findings today on the project website, found inconsistencies in medical records, courtroom testimony, eyewitness accounts and Watkins’ supposed confession.
