Seema Saifee

Staff Attorney

Seema Saifee is a staff attorney at the Innocence Project. She litigates claims for access to post-conviction DNA testing nationwide and supervises law students in the Innocence Project clinic.
 
Previously, Ms. Saifee was a legal fellow at the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania, where she engaged in constitutional litigation, primarily against U.S. government officials and local law enforcement, in cases concerning national security, freedom of speech, and racial and ethnic justice. Before working for the ACLU, Ms. Saifee was a litigation associate at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, where her pro bono work included representing several ethnic Uighur men imprisoned without charge at the U.S. Naval Station at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. She previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Dan Aaron Polster of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
 
Ms. Saifee is a 2001 graduate of Cornell University and a 2004 graduate of Fordham Law School, where she was a Crowley Scholar in International Human Rights and a Stein Scholar in Public Interest Law and Ethics.
