Rebecca Brown

Director of State Policy Reform

Rebecca Brown has worked in the criminal justice field for twenty years, beginning her career at the Civilian Complaint Review Board, where she investigated allegations of police misconduct for the City of New York. She then served as the Juvenile Justice Policy Analyst for the Mayor’s Office of the Criminal Justice Coordinator, keeping abreast of policies and programs affecting the delivery of services within the juvenile justice system in New York City. In 2004, she joined the Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) as a Senior Planner, where she conducted research, evaluation and planning work around its alternative to incarceration programs. Since 2005, she has been engaged in state-level policy work at the Innocence Project, currently serving as the Director of State Policy Reform.
 
She graduated cum laude from Barnard College and holds a Masters in Urban Planning, with a concentration in economic and community development from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University.
