A groundbreaking new book on how prosecutorial practices skew justice and condemn the innocent will be released by NYU Press next month.
Prosecution Complex: America’s Race to Convict and Its Impact on the Innocent, explores how even well-meaning prosecutors occasionally contribute to the conviction of innocent defendants as a result of cognitive biases and an overly-deferential regime of legal and ethical rules. Author Professor Daniel Medwed also recommends a series of reforms to prevent injustice.
