Katherine Judson

Shaken Baby Syndrome Litigation Fellow

Katherine Judson is proud to be joining the Innocence Project as the new Shaken Baby Syndrome Litigation Fellow. Kate began her legal career as an attorney with the New Mexico Public Defender Department from 2005-2010, where she specialized in felony cases, especially those with complicated forensic evidence. She has spoken before the American Academy of Forensic Science, as well as other conferences and seminars, on various issues related to criminal law and forensic science. Most recently, Kate was in private, solo practice in Madison, Wisconsin.
 
Her interest in the intersection of science and the law is what led Kate to law school. Prior to beginning law school, she was a laboratory assistant to a pathologist and worked on studies involving electron microscopy. She holds a BS in Zoology and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her JD from Marquette University Law School in 2005. She is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and New Mexico. Kate lives in Madison with her husband and son.
