After serving nearly three decades in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, Johnny Pinchback was cleared in 2011 by DNA tests obtained by the Innocence Project of Texas. He was freed on May 12, 2011, and officially exonerated on June 8 when the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted him a writ of habeas corpus.
