Innocence Project Celebrates 20th Anniversary Tonight!
Posted: May 8, 2012 2:20 pm
We are proud to be celebrating the Innocence Project's 20th anniversary tonight, May 8th, at our annual benefit, A Celebration of Freedom & Justice, at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
In honor of their tremendous contributions to our work, we will pay tribute to Peter B. Lewis, Chairman, Progressive Insurance; Taryn Simon, an artist whose works include The Innocents; and the law firm Winston & Strawn LLP. These honorees have each made a real and lasting difference in the pursuit of justice.
This year, nearly 20 exonerees will also be in attendance, including Robert Dewey, who was exonerated last week in Colorado. Other recent exonerees joining us include Michael Morton from Texas, Rickey Dale Wyatt from Texas, Henry James from Louisiana, Michael Saunders from Illionois, and Thomas Haynesworth from Virginia.
This will be our largest benefit ever with over 700 guests, and we are looking forward to another wonderful evening tonight. For more information please call the Benefit office 212-675-9474 or to purchase tickets click here. For media inquiries please contact 212-364-5983.
