Ifeoma Ike (Ify) obtained her J.D. from CUNY Law School (2008) and her LL.M. in Litigation and Dispute Resolution from George Washington University Law School (2010). Post law school, Ms. Ike was a real estate associate at the NY law firm Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, LLP and subsequently worked with The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington, handling employment and educational discrimination cases.
Ify joins IP after spending three years in Washington, DC working on national policy agendas in the areas of criminal justice, urban equity, education, and the judicial system. Ify worked with the American Bar Association’s Criminal Division as an attorney researcher on the Collateral Consequences of Criminal Convictions and Adjudications project, and subsequently served on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Fellow in the office of the late Rep. Donald M. Payne (NJ) and as Counsel with the US House Judiciary Committee—Minority. Ify worked on an array of foreign affairs and domestic policies, and assisted in obtaining foreign assistance to Haiti post 2010 earthquake; created plans for equitable transportation options in urban communities; and combated voter disenfranchisement,”stop & frisk” policies, the “war on women,” and attacks on labor unions and the working class.
