Huy Dao
Director of Case Intake and Evaluation
Huy Dao became one of the Innocence Project’s first full-time employees in 1997 when he was hired as the Case Director. Mr. Dao helped to develop the Innocence Project’s system of evaluation to determine which cases can be accepted for representation or consultation. His staff of eight now handles over 250 new requests for assistance each month and is currently evaluating between 6,000 to 8,000 cases.
Mr. Dao graduated from Cornell University in 1997 and received an MFA in Writing from the New School in 2000. He is an expert on post-conviction DNA testing and a some-time poet.
