How to Submit a Case to the Innocence Project
If you're looking for legal representation for yourself or someone else, the Innocence Project may be able to help. The Innocence Project only accepts cases in which post-conviction DNA testing can provide conclusive proof of innocence.
If you believe the case qualifies, please send a letter with the following information:
- The name of the defendant, inmate number and address
- A brief description of the case
- Details of the crime
- Evidence presented against the defendant during the trial and biological evidence that could prove innocence
- Please don’t send any legal documents yet
The Innocence Project is not equipped to handle telephone or email applications. Please send your case reviews by mail.
