Hensleigh Crowell joined the Innocence Project as a Paralegal in June 2010, after graduating from Vassar College with a BA in psychology. While at Vassar, she was very active with prison issues: she was an intern for the Vassar-Otisville Bridging the Gap Transitional Services program, participated in the first inside-out Vassar class taught in Taconic Women’s Facility with a mix of Vassar students and incarcerated women, co-founded the Vassar Prison Initiative, and edited their annual journal. She has also interned at The Osborne Association, a prison-reform group based in Brooklyn and the Bronx, and worked for R.E.A.L. Skills Network, an organization dedicated to providing educational and growth-oriented after-school activities to youth in Poughkeepsie.
