Hank Skinner Deserves DNA Tests

Hank Skinner is scheduled to be executed in two weeks despite his claims of innocence and his pending request for DNA tests.
Attorneys for Skinner asked a federal court on Monday to keep his civil lawsuit alive as they try to recover evidence for new DNA testing they claim may prove his innocence. Although this evidence has not been tested, the state is prepared to execute Skinner on Wednesday, November 9.
Please join us in writing to District Attorney Lynn Switzer to allow the evidence to be tested before it is too late.
Post-conviction testing is available for DNA evidence not previously analyzed and for DNA evidence that was tested but that can be re-examined with newer technology.
Skinner was convicted and sentenced to death in 1995 for killing his live-in girlfriend and her two adult sons – a crime he says he didn’t commit. After drinking alcohol and consuming Xanax the night of the murder, he said he was too intoxicated to have committed the crimes and has been seeking DNA testing for over a decade.
Skinner, 49, came within an hour of lethal injection last year.
