Innocence Project client Frank Sterling, who served 18 years in prison for a crime DNA proved he did not commit, is suing police in Monroe County, N.Y. for not pursuing evidence that pointed to the real perpetrator.
Miguel Roman is suing the city of Hartford, Conn., for 20 years of wrongful conviction.
Ohio police believe a mentally ill man is innocent of murder, but he remains in prison on account of his false confession.
Texas lawmakers consider moving the Texas Forensic Science Commission to Department of Public Safety headquarters to give more flexibility to examine potentially flawed forensic investigations.
Also in Texas, House members rejected a bill for an innocence commission to analyze wrongful convictions.
