Friday Roundup: Appeals Granted, Charges Dismissed

The Ohio Supreme Court has granted a death row inmate’s appeal for new DNA testing after initial appeals were denied.

The ACLU argued before the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals that a death row inmate should be given a new trial due to prosecutorial misconduct in his case.

Prosecutors in South Carolina abruptly dismissed murder charges against two men after witness testimony and other evidence that raised doubts of guilt.

A Kansas judge dismissed a rape conviction after several people signed sworn documents stating that the victim said her allegations were false.

Lawmakers in Connecticut discussed the shortcomings of eyewitness identification with expert Dr. Gary Wells.
