Former Texas Inmate Officially Exonerated, Prosecutorial Misconduct Reviewed

Michael Morton will be officially exonerated of the 1987 murder of his wife today, Monday, December 19. He spent 25 years in prison and was released in October of this year.

Morton’s legal team filed a court report today detailing allegations of prosecutorial wrongdoing that contributed to his wrongful conviction.

This afternoon, Morton’s attorneys will  ask the district judge to convene a Court of Inquiry to examine allegations that the District Attorney suppressed evidence, reported the Austin American-Statesman.
