Erik Ruiz
Case Assistant
Erik Ruiz joined the Innocence Project in September of 2012 as a Case Assistant. Prior to joining the organization, Erik worked in several supportive housing programs, which focused on clients who suffered from mental illness, substance abuse or homelessness, or who were HIV positive. While his main focus was on vendor relations and collecting rent from clients, Erik also provided various data-collection and analysis services such as creating user-friendly project management systems. Before devoting himself full-time to non-profit work, Erik pursued a career in journalism, having earned his B.A. in journalism from NYU in 2005. In his personal time, Erik takes kung fu classes, reads Russian absurdist literature, loves to dance and watches a ridiculous amount of films and television from the 70s,80s, and 90s.
