Chairman of Texas Forensic Commission Won’t Be Back

The controversial chairman of the Texas Forensic Science Commission will be out of the job on Monday. The State Senate Nominations Committee concluded its work for the year without voting on Gov. Rick Perry’s appointment of Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley to continue in the role.
Bradley had drawn criticism from the Innocence Project and others for delaying the panel’s investigation into the arson conviction of Cameron Todd Willingham, who was executed in 2004 despite evidence that he was convicted based on faulty science.
Perry can now appointment a replacement to the commission.
