Development Volunteer
The Innocence Project is seeking a Volunteer for the Development Department. The Development Volunteer will help us maintain our rapidly growing database of supporters, and update donor records — both electronic and material.
Time and Location: The Development Volunteer should be available for at least 10 hour per week at the Innocence Project’s office in Manhattan.
Responsibilities (projects include but are not limited to the following):
• Production and mailing of acknowledgement letters to donors;
• Checking database for duplicates;
• Updating donor addresses using internet research and other resources;
• Preparing files for storage.
Qualifications:
• Ability to accomplish a variety of assignments with limited supervision;
• Willingness to ask for help and ask other questions;
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
• Familiarity with Microsoft Access or with the basic principles of databases;
• Readiness to perform extensive data-entry, filing, photocopying, and other administrative tasks, and the ability to do so efficiently.
• Interest in issues of human rights and justice, especially as they relate to the IP’s mission to free the wrongfully convicted and bring reform to the criminal justice system.
